Background

bitc MÖBEL AB is a privately owned company. Founded in 1990, it has enjoyed rapid expansion through extensive product development that facilitates continuous development of new, attractive products to satisfy an ever-growing demand for quality and design.

Since 1997 the business has been based in its head office and central warehouse in Bjärnum in the Skåne province of southern Sweden. The 14,000m2 warehouse meets the market demand for quality, service and rapid deliveries.

The 600m2 premises houses a photo studio for our annual product magazine production as well as an inspiring show room. bitc operates in an international arena with production in eastern Europe and Asia and have subsidiaries in Sweden, Poland, England and China. Our Scandiline Inter AB subsidiary in Sweden exports to large parts of western Europe.

bitc MÖBEL AB designs, markets and distributes good value home furniture of chiefly wood to furniture retailers throughout Scandinavia.

At bitc, quality has always been the hallmark. By quality we mean not only product quality but also delivery quality and service. We have introduced a quality control system and are certified in accordance with SS-EN ISO 9002. We strive to constantly improve ourselves as suppliers by following up our daily work and we always have one eye on environmental issues to safeguard a good environment for the future. Our work environment policy creates job satisfaction and motivation throughout the company. One of our foremost goals is to be an attractive and challenging employer. bitc is work environment-certified in accordance with AFS 2001:1. Social responsibility and Environment

bitc are members of MIBO, the Furniture Importers Association, and follow their guidelines on "purchasing rule ethics" concerning social welfare and work conditions for employees, as well as demand for active environmental consideration in the supply chain. (see more at MIBOs website www.mibo.com)

The bitc ecopolicy says that we should consistently and purposefully consider environmental issues in order to protect a future healthy environment. This will be achieved by striving to minimize environmental influence in development of new products, selection of suppliers and also in our own operations.

Awards

The market likes our products! We are rapidly expanding. The past four years we have been named as Gazell Company by Dagens Industri and last year we were one of 50 companies in Sweden to be named as Super Gazell.

Another fine award is Skåne’s best growth company, which we were awarded in 2005.
